My first post

Well, this is going to be my blog. I guess everyone has one now, so why shouldn't I? In 4 weeks, I will graduate college (at the ripe old age of 30). In 3 weeks, I'll turn 30.

Four years ago, I had a Gastric Bypass (BPD/DS) and went from a size 24 to a size 10, losing about 145 pounds along the way. I weigh about 158-162 pounds (depending on the day in question). I gained a newfound respect for modern science and an eating disorder called bulimia after my surgery. I've been battling that disorder for two years now and hope to overcome it with the help of my wonderful husband (Joe) and my therapist (Joan) as well as a top notch head shrinker (Dr. Fisher). So, now you know I'm a girl with many issues to cover.

I love cooking, cross stitch, all things concerning home design and fine living. I am all about making our home beautiful. In fact, right now I'm staring at a 9 foot tall Christmas tree. This is particularly appealing because we have a front lawn pink flamingo with googly eyes and a santa hat on top of said tree. I am already shopping for Christmas presents (oh yeah, I love me some Christmas!) Oh, I forgot to mention that I am Southern (I sound like Joy from My Name is Earl), so I use a lot of poor grammar and cursing for effect. If you plan to tune in to my blog, please anticipate this type of thing. It is common and I think it is funny!

Trust me, I'm funny. If you don't believe me, just ask me... I'll be happy to educate you on my level of hilarity.

Hmmm... well, my first post stinks. Not good like garlic either... bad... bad like poo. But hey, I had to give you all the important details of my life so you don't lose the story... Other important things to mention: I am close friends with my ex-husband (Mr. Fred) with whom I have no children. We did have a dog- Booji, who is the most precious thing in the world and lives in Chicago with Fred and his g/f Lori. They are very happy and I'm thrilled that we all found love!

Oh, I live in Northern California. Yes, it is beautiful here. Currently, I don't work, but in a few weeks, I have to start looking (graduation looming....). So, that's all for now. Enjoy your evening.
